I suoi numeri, oltre 100.000 spoglie, 39.857 spoglie identificate, 22 gradoni, 52 ettari di area commemorativa, ricordano i tragici eventi che costarono la vita di tanti uomini durante la prima guerra mondiale.<\/p><p>Il monumento \u00e8 massiccio e imponente; la scalata per arrivare in cima permette di apprezzarne la maestosa architettura. Sui gradoni \u00e8 incisa in sequenza la scritta &#8220;Presente&#8221;; la parola si riferisce al coro dei commilitoni in risposta al grido del comandante che chiamava il nome del compagno defunto, durante il rito d&#8217;appello.<\/p><p>Ogni anno, il 4 novembre, al sacrario di Redipuglia si tiene una cerimonia commemorativa in onore dei 651.000 soldati caduti nella Grande Guerra, alla presenza class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>IL PERCORSO VERSO LA CIMA<\/h5><p>Il percorso che conduce alla cima del sacrario inizia dal piazzale, dove si trova la grande tomba di Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, duca d&#8217;Aosta, circondata dalle tombe dei suoi generali: Chinotto, Monti, Paolini, Prelli e Riccieri. Subito oltre, si trova la \u201cVia Eroica\u201d delimitata da 2 file di lapidi in bronzo, che ricordano i nomi delle localit\u00e0 dei combattimenti avvenuti sul Carso.\u00a0Da qui, la monumentale scala si allunga verso la sommit\u00e0 del Sacrario, che rappresenta il monte Golgota con le tre Croci.<\/p><p>La scala \u00e8 composta da 22 gradoni, contenenti le salme dei 40.000 caduti noti, disposte in ordine alfabetico dal basso verso l&#8217;alto. Alla sommit\u00e0 della scala si trovano due tombe comuni per le salme dei caduti non identificati. Una grossa catena d&#8217;ancora, che apparteneva ad una torpediniera, delimita l&#8217;ingresso al sacrario.<\/p><h5>IN CIMA<\/h5><p>Sulla sommit\u00e0 del sacrario si trovano un&#8217;ex cappella votiva, diventata chiesa della Madonna Regina della Pace, un&#8217;area museale e un osservatorio su cui sono incise le localit\u00e0 delle battaglie pi\u00f9 class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>LA SUA STORIA<\/h5><p>Il Colle di Sant&#8217;Elia sorge sul lato opposto al sacrario. <br \/>In origine, il colle ospitava il cimitero monumentale e le spoglie dei caduti, che vennero successivamente trasferite al sacrario. Il luogo aveva un riferimento altamente simbolico e la sua architettura rappresentava queste allegorie. Il colle era suddiviso in sette settori concentrici che dalla base arrivavano fino alla cima e raffiguravano i gironi del Purgatorio dantesco; le lapidi erano coronate da materiali bellici ritrovati nella zona del Monte Sei Busi.<\/p><h5>Il PERCORSO DEL PARCO DELLE RIMEMBRANZE<\/h5><p>Oggi, il Colle Sant&#8217;Elia \u00e8 diventato il Parco della Rimembranza. Il parco commemorativo \u00e8 formato da un largo viale; ai suoi lati sono disposti dei carri armati e le riproduzioni di cimeli e delle epigrafi originali, come in un museo a cielo aperto. Sulla cima si trova una colonna romana proveniente dagli scavi di Aquileia, posata in memoria dei caduti di tutte le guerre. Il viale \u00e8 circondato da cipressi; l&#8217;atmosfera \u00e8 meditativa.<br \/>Dal colle si possono distinguere il Monte Sei Busi e la linea del Carso isontino, teatro di celebri e sanguinose pu\u00f2 visitare una trincea blindata risalente alla Grande guerra. La trincea venne costruita nel giugno del 1915, in rinforzo ai movimenti bellici della prima e seconda Battaglia dell&#8217;Isonzo.
