A picturesque route, with very short sections of moderate exposure, overlooking the Piave Valley and offering numerous opportunities for a journey through time and emotions. Setting off from the picturesque village of Casso, we begin our walk with an unusual view of the Vajont dam and the landslide from Monte Toc, prompting reflection on the events that took place over 60 years ago. Continuing on, we make our way above the Piave Valley, where we discover the first of the rocky outcrops that give the path its name, characterised by ancient stone dwellings nestled against the cliffs and numerous ammonite fossils. We then begin to climb, making our way close to a spectacular cliff face and finally to the ancient Cava di Cepe, which is panoramic and light-filled on the outside, yet dark and gloomy on the inside. We’ll cover around 10 kilometres with a 600-metre elevation gain, along a route which, in a few short sections, requires agility and experience of narrow paths. Make sure you’re prepared with suitable technical clothing and a packed lunch to make the most of this unforgettable adventure.
