On Sunday 30 June at 9 a.m., a hike on the Geological Trail will take place, starting from Villanova delle Grotte. The entire 14-kilometre version of the path, which crosses the municipalities of Tarcento and Nimis, will be walked. This ancient path leads past ruins, watercourses and historical evidence, allowing visitors to explore the hypogean and geological beauty of the Upper Val Torre. The itinerary starts from the Bar Panorama in Villanova, crosses pine forests and streams, and allows you to observe traces of ancient human presence until you reach Monte Pocivalo, the highest point of the excursion, rich in evidence of recent war history. From Borgo Tamar, through forests and 'rock towns', we will reach the suggestive Borgo Vigant, where we can admire geological beauties such as the Vigant Abyss and a section of the Doviza Cave, offering a taste of speleology. The excursion will end in Villanova, at the scenic village square.
