Tina Modotti is a fascinating and complex figure, described as “the most famous unknown photographer of the 20th century”. An inspirational muse, talented photographer and political activist in Mexico and Spain, she was also Frida Kahlo's friend and, arguably, lover. A free and emancipated woman, she was deeply committed to the defence of the weakest. During the event, we will explore her life, still shrouded in mystery, and analyse some of her most iconic photographs taken in Mexico in the 1920s and 1930s. The performance is the result of in-depth research and original writing, with texts inspired by the verses Pablo Neruda dedicated to Tina Modotti. With Ilaria Marcuccilli, Massimo Tommasini and the notes of Amir Karalic's guitar, under the direction of Massimo Tommasini. The event, enriched by Lelio Bonaccorso's illustrations, is part of the project ’Vengo anch'io - Aperitivo con l'Arte’, supported by the FVG Region and the Municipality of Udine.
