A hike that will immerse us in the magic of the Julian Alps, spiced with important historical notes. In a simply incredible natural context, we will, in fact, cross two of the most important periods in recent history: the trenches of the Great War and the bunkers of the Iron Curtain (Cold War) are here mute witnesses of past eras, of stories of men and mountains. But the emotions that Jof di Sompdogna offers us do not end here. The panorama that opens up from the summit is a real treasure for the eyes and soul, a 360 degree view of one of the most spectacular landscapes that the Julian Alps can offer. Impressive is the view of the north face of Jof di Montasio and its glacier, the lowest in the Alps. Towards the end of the route, it will be possible to find refreshment at Rif. Grego, where a refreshing drink and a snack will certainly refresh us. This hike represents a true journey into the soul of the mountains, an enchanted place for dreamers capable of being carried away by the romantic charm of these places. The last section of the trail to the summit of Jof di Sompdogna is classified EE (for experienced hikers), but fear not, your guide will be at your side every step of the way!
