We find ourselves in the town of Ampezzo, in the Tagliamento Valley, linked to history, having been for a brief period, in the spring of 1944, the 'capital' of the Free Zone of Carnia. It is from here that the route begins, which will take us to visit the Geological Museum of Carnia and the Davanzo Art Gallery, numerous characteristic local churches (the one in Mediis is interesting) and pieces of history such as the Vallo del Littorio (Wall of Littorio) in Preone. Completing the "offer" of this route is the splendid nature that surrounds us, broadleaf forests and numerous meadows, streams and torrents and "him" the Tagliamento, the last natural river in Europe.
