Ciclotour Fish&Wine: guided bike tour to discover Marano and its surroundings with tasting

We will set off by bike from Marano Lagunare to discover the only fishing valley in Marano, “Valle Nalon”, which operates using traditional fishing methods, leaving the reproductive and life cycle of the fish to nature. We will cycle along the banks, meeting the “valesan”, a key figure in the valley, to learn about his working techniques and how nature can affect fish reproduction. After the tour of the valley, we will continue cycling until we reach the “del Lovo” valley, where we will discover a new farming technique by visiting the production laboratory, appreciating and tasting the catch of the day, delighting our palates as well as our hearts as we admire the unique beauty of this exclusive area. Once we have admired these natural and scenic beauties, we will proceed to a place that is now famous worldwide for its wine, located on the Adria bike route, to discover its vineyards nestled in the valley, tasting a good sparkling wine accompanied by excellent cicchetti (small snacks) so that we can also discover the originality of the cuisine offered by these magical places. We will then continue along the cycle path that connects us to the heart of Marano Lagunare, reaching its historic centre to discover its seafaring traditions and listen to the stories of the fishermen we meet on the piers as they mend their nets. The cycle tour will end at an old tavern with cicchetti and fine wine.

Tina Modotti – “El fuego no muere”: aperitif with art at Palazzo Morpurgo in Udine

Tina Modotti is a fascinating and complex figure, described as "the most famous unknown photographer of the 20th century". An inspiring muse, talented photographer and political activist in Mexico and Spain, she was also a friend and, probably, lover of Frida Kahlo. A free and emancipated woman, she was deeply committed to defending the weakest members of society. During the event, we will explore her life, still shrouded in mystery, and analyse some of her most iconic photographs taken in Mexico between the 1920s and 1930s. The show is the result of in-depth research and original writing, with texts inspired by the verses Pablo Neruda dedicated to Tina Modotti. With Ilaria Marcuccilli, Massimo Tommasini and the guitar notes of Amir Karalic, directed by Massimo Tommasini. The event, enhanced by illustrations by Lelio Bonaccorso, is part of the 'Vengo anch'io - Aperitivo con l'Arte' project, supported by the FVG Region and the Municipality of Udine.
