The pesarine dolomites
The Pesarine Dolomites are an impassable and wild mountain range still little contaminated by man because it is rugged and rocky. The range lies on the border between Veneto and Friuli, and only the Clap massif belongs to Friuli Venezia Giulia. The De Gasperi refuge rises right on the slopes of the rocky vertical of this grandiose massif.

Landscape
The De Gasperi refuge is located on the Clap Grant shoulder, surrounded by the rugged and rocky landscape of the Pesarine Dolomites, mountains that are inhospitable and, as such, still unspoiled. To get there, from the Sbilf Trail, CAI 201, one passes through the forest that finally opens onto the grassy plateau where De Gasperi stands. A breathtaking view can be seen from here; in fact, the Clap Terrace overlooks the Pesarina Valley. The views are different from the various angles and one particular and alternative one is from the red hammock positioned near the cliff.

The products used are all local, particularly Carnic cured meats and pastorut, a cheese that requires manual production. The cuisine is homemade. The chef, in fact, is the manager himself, who also expertly useswild herbs, silene, bear garlic and many others . In addition to the excellent beer and a good tajut of wine, at the end of the meal, you cannot fail to taste the special grappas.

The forest-looking at you!
The path to the De Gasperi refuge winds through an enchanted forest populated by the mischievous Sbilf. Sbilf are friendly sprites of the Carnia forests who camouflage themselves in underbrush and tree hollows. The hut manager, an expert carver, has made these funny characters out of tree trunks or wood carvings, and visitors will find themselves walking through the forest under the curious gazes of the Sbilf. The climb is a bit challenging, but suitable for everyone, and children will have fun looking for the Sbilf forgetting their fatigue.

How to get to the shelter
The refuge can be reached exclusively on foot by choosing from several options:

This is definitely the most popular route and recommended for everyone because of the ease and the forest walk in the company of the Sbilf. The route takes about 1 h 30 min and is moderately challenging;
